All Or Part of Me

(Series: Living In God’s Favor)

Psalm 119: 57-64

You are my portion, O Lord; I have promised to keep Your words. I entreated Your favor with my whole heart; be merciful and gracious to me according to Your promise. I considered my ways; I turned my feet to [obey] Your testimonies. I made haste and delayed not to keep Your commandments. Though the cords of the wicked have enclosed and ensnared me, I have not forgotten Your law. At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You because of Your righteous ordinances. I am a companion of all those who fear, revere, and worship You, and of those who observe and give heed to Your precepts. The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy and loving-kindness; teach me Your statutes.

There is a question very person should ask themselves: Am I giving all or part of myself to God?

Your immediate response may be rather obvious, seeing there always is the opportunity to draw closer to Jehovah. More important is your long-term response to closing the gap between life and eternal blessings. There are numerous examples of God closing the gap between his children and their blessings. When you read about Abraham, Sarah, Esther, David, Elijah, Paul, Tabitha, Mary and many others, there is plenty of evidence of how God’s goodness is delivered to masses of people who believe and trust in Him.

The psalmist in 119 gives a straightforward answer to enhancing a fully attentive lifestyle that build a good, solid, right-standing relationship with the Lord. You also should apply the same measures to ensure living in God’s favor.

I.                 Tell Jehovah that He is your portion; your life is totally devoted to Him.

II.               Promise to keep God’s words.

III.              Focus on God and His favor with your whole heart.

IV.              Ask God to be merciful and gracious with His Promise.

V.                Consider your ways, turning away from them and, with hast and no delay, obeying God and keeping His commandments.

VI.              Rise and give thanks to the Lord in the morning, noonday, and night.

VII.            Have Jehovah as your companion, along with having fellow companions who fear, revere and worship Him.

VIII.          Ask and allow the Lord to teach you with the fullness of His mercy and loving kindness.
