A Promise Made. A Promise Kept.

A Promise Made. A Promise Kept.
(Message Series: My Flaws. His Clause.)

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
(1 John 1:5-10)

God's promising message to you is:

·        God is Light (no darkness in Him) (vs 5)
·        There is Fellowship (with Him and other believers) (vs 6-7)
·        The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from ALL sin (vs 7)
·        Confession leads to forgiveness and cleansing from ALL unrighteousness (vs 9)

Confession And Restoration (My Flaws. His Clause.)

My Flaws. His Clause.
Confession and Restoration
November 9, 2014

Numbers 5:5-10
And the Lord said to Moses, Say to the Israelites, When a man or woman commits any sin that men commit by breaking faith with the Lord, and that person is guilty, Then he shall confess the sin which he has committed, and he shall make restitution for his wrong in full, and add a fifth to it, and give it to him whom he has wronged. But if the man [wronged] has no kinsman to whom the restitution may be made, let it be given to the Lord for the priest, besides the ram of atonement with which atonement shall be made for the offender. And every offering of all the holy things of the Israelites which they bring to the priest shall be his. And every man's hallowed things shall be the priest's; whatever any man gives the priest shall be his.
(Numbers 5:5-10)

1. Everyone has done something wrong, regardless of how nice and wonderful we may appear to be. (Romans 3: 23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God)

2. Confess, righting the wrong. (Admitting faults one to another.)

(James 5:16)  Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

(Proverbs 28:13)  He who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes his sins will obtain mercy. [Ps. 32:3, 5; I John 1:8-10.]

3. Restore life forevermore. (Recompense=turn away, retreat and return to what is best, right, and good.) Not recovering mode. With Jesus, you are recovered.

Read Romans3: 23-26.
Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives. [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus, Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment. It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time (in the now season) that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has [true] faith in Jesus.
(Romans 3:23-26)
